Hey V Team – welcome to another week in review. We launched into this week with Skyward – A Verizon Company – that uses drones to help transform the world for good. At the Global Citizen Festival, Hans and Pharrell announced Verizon’s plan to install 5G in 100 schools by 2021 through our Verizon Innovative Learning program. We got to learn more about Chief HR Officer Christy Pambianchi. From her love of Harry Potter to how CD-ROMs helped her catch the tech bug. Last month, we saw how excited some of our employees were to see the new iPhones during a commercial shoot. Now, employees can now buy the new iPhones, the new Apple Watch Series 5 and the new 10.2-inch iPad. There are some really incredible deals, so log in to your My Verizon account for pricing. Hans was in San Francisco this week at TechCrunch Disrupt and talked about the future of 5G. Other featured events at TechCrunch Disrupt included a Q&A panel headlined by Verizon Ventures leader, Chris Bartlett. Grace Hopper is the world’s largest gathering of women technologists. Over the past few days, Martha Delehanty, and other V Teamers have been participating in panel discussions, networking sessions, and 5G tech demos showcasing how women are making the best tech better. We were in Philadelphia in support of Women Against Abuse. Their annual Domestic Violence Awareness Month kickoff event featuring Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney and Verizon’s Jennifer Young.
