Tech & Gaming on the Weekend #1

Today is Saturday, March 12th, 2016 and I’d like to bring you the most important tech and gaming news from the last week. On Monday Microsoft Studios announced that any work on Fable Legends is now stopped. The game was publicly revealed at Gamescom 2013 and already at that time evoke some confusion in gamer society because it was one more Fable game, that didn’t stick with the RPG origins. Now after almost 3 years later, some serious work was put into it as well as ongoing beta tests, but the game is officially canceled. Microsoft said, that they are also thinking about shutting down the studio that made Fable series. Lionhead Studios, which is home for almost 100 developers, was created in the year 1996 and since 2006 is part of the Microsoft Studios. Their biggest success is The Fable game series, which for many players is one of the pillars of XBOX and XBOX360. In other news, it was also said that Press Play Studios in Denmark is going to be shut down. As always in the case of Google on Wednesday we got a huge news from the world tech giant. A new developer preview of the mobile operating system was released – Android N. The most talked about new function is split-screen app capability. This kind of solution was previously available only in producers skins from Samsung or LG. System implementation allows now for some wider interaction between apps, like drag’n’drop text copying. Notification received a bit more functionality because now you are going to be able to answer messages notification from SMS or Hangouts. It isn’t a totally new thing for Android users as well. Further extended was the Doze functionality, which saves some battery, when the phone isn’t in use. Before it was activated only as the phone was laying flat without any movement, but now it will also work when in the user’s pocket. There were also some other software updates to further develop the operating system. More official information will presumably be revealed at Google I/O conference in May. On Thursday evening, Apple sent the invitations for their upcoming conference, which will take place on March 21st. The title of this invitation is “Let us loop you in” which is a slight nudge at the iPod loop in the previous models. Around that exact time a new trailer for the next Marvel movie “Captain America: Civil War” was revealed. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can watch it here or click the link in the description. This week was also the premiere of the newest Ubisoft game “Tom Clancy’s The Division”. It was received very well on the Internet and by the journalists. You can watch the launch trailer here. That’s all for this week. Let me know in the comments what do you think about this kind of films ever week on weekends.
