Pebble Time Round | Hands On

Pebble Time Round is the company’s first round
smartwatch. The price starts at $249, and it’s designed to be a slimmer version of the
somewhat blocky Pebble and Pebble Time smart watches. It is indeed a little more comfortable
to wear. But so far it has some limited applications and as my first smartwatch, I haven’t quite
found my life to be mind-blowingly different. But that might be the point of the Pebble
Time Round — it is, after all, a nice watch. It feels good, it tells the time, and the
ability to change watch faces is a nice touch. The notifications are helpful if you’re carrying
around an iPhone 6 Plus, for example, which I usually keep in my bag when I’m walking
about to and from work. For example, paging through music is pretty convenient when wearing
bluetooth headphones as well. And the notifications work as, well, notifications
— it is a little convenient to not have to take out your phone, but it isn’t all that
much of a change. Overall, it’s a nice thing to have, but it hasn’t made my life hugely
different.
