Royal Caribbean International recently
announced details on the newest quantum ultra class ship Odyssey of the Seas.
Odyssey of the Seas will be the 27th vessel to join the fleet and is set to
have the most action-packed top deck to date. Incredible features include a
two-level pool deck, two open-air resort style pools and four whirlpools. This new
design allows guests to sit back and soak up the Sun but also offers plenty
of shady casitas and hammocks. The two-story Lime and Coconut has a tropical
vibe with prime pool front views. This will be the perfect place to hang out
during the day and on into the evening where you can sip a sunset cocktail
whilst taking in the panoramic views. Hungry guests can enjoy a poolside snack
at El Loco Fresh serving authentic Mexican food from tacos and burritos to
quesadillas and an array of fresh salsas. Active kids are going to love Splashaway Bay. The Aqua Park offers water slides, fountains, water cannons and more
for hours of fun. The adult only solarium is an exclusive top-deck retreat for
some quiet time with swimming pools and whirlpools. Day beds and hidden nooks
will offer the ultimate relaxation while sipping on your favorite drink from the
full-service bar. Adventure Ocean will have a whole new layout. Here young
cruisers will enjoy an action-packed schedule offering a wide range of games
which include their very own immersive experiences. The entertainment across the
ship will include Royal Caribbean’s signature musical productions in the Royal
Theater, as well as mind-blowing high-tech shows in the innovative 270.
Boasting 270 degree panoramic windows with sweeping ocean views the expansive
open area living room at the back of the ship transforms into a 135 foot wide and
22 foot tall screen. At night the iconic venue becomes a multi-dimensional
theater where six Robo screens come to life in sync with music, special effects,
live performers and aerialists. Another great venue is the Music Hall which
provides the perfect place for a variety of live performances,
whilst robot bartenders will serve your favorite cocktails in the Bionic bar.
Playmakers Sports Bar and Arcade will be located in the Seaplex.
Sports fans can follow all the sports action with TVs at every angle. Serving
Far Eastern flavors Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant will make its first
appearance in North America. Royal Caribbean favorites such as Izumi, Chops
Grille, Chef’s Table and Wonderland will also be on board.
Odyssey’s top-deck Seaplex is the largest indoor activity space at sea, offering fun
for all the family. Drive the only bumper cars at sea, soar from a flying trapeze at
circus school or battle for survival in the glow-in-the-dark laser tag arena. The
upper level of Seaplex will be dominated with the most interactive arcade at sea.
There is plenty on offer for thrill-seekers too. Royal Caribbean’s
signature FlowRider and rock wall will be on board Odyssey of the Seas, as will
be the more recently introduced skydiving simulator Ripcord by iFly.
Odyssey of the Seas will share a whole new perspective of some of the world’s
most legendary Shores from 300 feet above sea level in the iconic North Star
glass capsule. Well that’s all from me for now, but be sure to subscribe to Ships
and Champagne for all the latest cruise news.
