Oakland Neighborhood Pleads For Safer Streets After Fatal Hit-And-Run

THIS MORNING THE COMMUNITY IS STILL TRYING TO DEAL WITH THAT LOSS. THERE ALSO ANGRY AND WILL BE OUT HERE PROTESTING IN ABOUT AN HOUR TRYING TO GET THIS INTERSECTION SAFER. THEY WANT TO BE ABLE TO WALK THE KIDS TO SCHOOL WITHOUT THE THREAT OF BEING HIT AND KILLED BY A CAR. IT IS KNOWN FOR THE CARS THE STREET DOWN FOOTHILL BOULEVARD. PARTS OF IT ARE IN SCHOOL ZONES HOWEVER. THE POLICE DEPARTMENT IS THAT A PATROLS TO THE AREA TO TRY TO DETER BAD DRIVING BEHAVIOR BUT IT DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK. THOSE THAT LIVE AROUND HERE AND SEND THE IT’S TO SCHOOL IN THE AREA ARE FED UP THEY WANT SIGNAGE AND FLASHING LIGHTS TO SAY SCHOOL ZONE ALONG FOOTHILL AT THE VERY LEAST.
