  1. To make all AAA games work in linux, we have to install all kind of dependencies…like .Net frameworks, directx components, visual studios, nvidia drivers…etc., through wine, then we can play any kind of game by registering game's .exe file in playonlinux…(yes…! windows only games…)

  2. Finally a more fair video regarding gaming on Linux/GNU!
I love running Debian based distros just for the amazing performance I get, and even more stability than Windows gives me LOL.
Well, my gaming desktop has Windows just because.
But my entry level "gaming" laptop MSI GL62M 7RD is running Ubuntu Budgie and Kali Linux I think dual boot.
Tho I don't recommend Kali if you have Nvidas stupid Optimus bullshit.

  3. Im so confused Im trying to download steam using my chromebook but its not working I followed every step in multiple different videos but they dont work

  4. Gaming on linux will be the way to go (cause there are linux distros that arent pc hungry, not as windows where just the system on stand by eat the resoruces of the pc) but the problem is that there are tons of steam games that doesnt work properlly and allsow tons of "main stream" games that doesnt work at all (thinking os LoL, FIFA, Battlefield/front, etc). and yes you can Wine them, but not all the games are "wined" properlly and if they some how are, cause theres a layer in between, that game on linux works worst than on windows, soo. It´s a steep foward ? true but a sort one. regards.

  5. 6:01 That's the most awkward "experimentation" i've ever heard haha.
Also i love how out of ALL windows games, bethesdas is the one working the best. On windows it's quite the opposite haha.

  6. You can dual boot. Whats the point ? Don't get me wrong I think its great they are working towards fully integrating linux, but as long as you just want to game and are not looking to contribute a brick in the wall, wats the point ? Just reboot into windows on your lightning fast SSD.

  7. Actually my gaming experience is currently better than on Windows I’m using Ubuntu 18.04 set up same way as you

  8. Linus didnt even use the virtual deskops on gnome… Guess hes too used to windows 7 cause even 10 has virtual desktops 😂

  9. Just let linux/github community look for source code and all this game will be work 70% faster then on windows and on lower specification… Coz if all world work on 1 game in 1 month this game dont have any bugs crash or other shit… That what open source must be… If You cant write stable game just give code someone who can repair your mistakes… Cheers from poland.

  10. I'm sicker of windows than I am of reinstalling distros every fucking time. So yeah, Linux it's been for a few years now. When I look back on windows updates and how it just starts without asking, the secretly calling back to that fucker Gates and his criminal crew, the spying and selling my data etc, I'm just really glad there are Linux options out there.

  11. Nice vid, i will definetely use linux after windows 7. But what about games other "platforms" like blizzard.net, epic games or origin?

  12. if i could play Heroes 3 of Might and Magic HD Horn of the Abyss on Linux without a bunch of programming code i''d leave Windows forever

  13. No, gaming on linux still suck ass. And it doesn't matter how much Valve claims differently, it will always suck ass. Simply because Linux does not have a unified standard between it's different distributions. So what works on Ubuntu may not (and probably won't) work on Fedora or Debian without some major work. That is why Windows will ALWAYS be the very very superior gaming platform for PC.

  14. So I have a few hundred dollars worth of games on steam for windows, if I switch to Linux will I loose all of that and have to start all over again?

  15. If Microsoft will continue doing what is he doing now, I am sure that Linux will be more and more popular and also drivers gets better and gaming on linux will be better and better….

  16. Trying to make gaming work on Linux is like trying to re-invent the wheel..
Why would anyone bother putting money into making Linux work for gaming when they can save money and focus on Windows that already works?
    I'll stay on my PC.:P

  17. I hate when dumb people compares Linux with Windows and expects it work the same when is NOT the same!! Linux is a complete unique world, and as long people stills using Windows, they won't switch definitevely to Linux. Linux doesn't sucks! It's the people who uses and expects it to be the same as Windows that sucks!!

  18. I installedPopOs on a second drive. Linux for real work is nice but for gaming it still sucks. I found me fixing basic stuff all day instead of just playing the game on windows. Everything is hacky and lacks support. Try to get an Uculus running, try to get a Hotas running. Linux gaming was the horror. I went back to windows. Now I know how good that system is. Will never complain again about Windows…

  19. I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use.
Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

  20. I use linux but even I gotta say gaming on windows is easier. Just see how many games you can't even run on with wine/lutris/proton and it's tweaks. Go to proton db and search for yourself

  21. Yes you can play games out of steam, just need to install some repositories and programs to run 32bits apps like windows and done.

veja esse, espero que chege logo para Linux porque eu quero Jogar.

Estou muito feliz pela feral ter a iniciativa para desenvolver jogos direto para Linux.

  24. Game runs on wine. Game doesn't need winetricks or exotic prefixes to run. Linux evangelist promotes the game as "Runs on linux! Hashtag Proton! Hashtag Steam! HashtagHashtag!" Game actually doesn't run on proton.
    You. Fucking. Liar.
