Convert video to mp4 – How to Convert video files to mp4 using VLC Media Player

Hello YouTube and welcome to another video
from octopus technology In this video I ‘ll show you how you can
convert any video file using vlc media player for free. So how you do that? First you need
to have vlc media player installed on your computer and then just open vlc and as you
can see here I have a test.wmv video file here which I am going to convert to mp4. So
then click on “convert / save”. You can change the container to anything you like
and then click on browse and save it as any name you want, I am saving it as test and
then click on save. Right after you have finished just hit start and as you can see, a test.mp4
temporary video file is being created until it finishes and you can see the process in
the video progress bar in vlc. So I hope you liked this video hit thumbs up for me and
go right below this video and hit that big red subscribe button. Thank you so much for
watching and I will see you guys in the next one. Bye

  1. HELP!  First it says "streaming" but it sort of flickers.  When I restart it a few times it says "streaming" and the blue line goes across the time index, but then it goes across again, and again, and again, and it never stops.*Also, since Youtube was updated I have no notifications of replies or new comments – I won't be able to tell if you've replied.  If you don't mind, please write to [email protected]

  2. My video is .torrent and I have been converting it to mp4 for God knows how many times but it just won't work😢 Help please

  3. It worked for me – 3/17/19 – On windows 10 / VLC version 3.0.6/ converted video with Audio to MP4 format with no issues. Thank you.

  4. I found out how to fix the no sound issue. After picking the file and clicking Convert/Save, where it says Profile and you have the Video – H.264 + MP3 (MP4) to the right of it, click the little Wrench, then go to Audio codec and select Keep Original Audio Track. Then just click save and it should work.

  5. I sure hope this works. I bought a DJI OSMO ACTION camera and I can find a way to watch the videos. They are in .MOV format and my Win 7 computer won't play them. The videos with my point on shoot Panasonic camera play fine, they are in MP4 format. I wish I'd never bought this DJI camera–too frustrating in many areas.

  6. SORRY MISTER, I FULFILLLED YOUR STEPS EXACTLY AND IT SENDS THE VIDEO BUT NOT ON MP4 ….NOT EVEN IT GETS OPEN AS VIDEO… URIEL, PANAMA CANAL, SEPT-29-2019, [email protected] THE CONVERSION SAYS ^UNSUPPORTED^ .. NO VIDEO NEITHER AUDIO…
