in the world who experience some form of disability. It is important to understand the challenges
that people with these various disabilities can face when it comes to using social media.

barriers for social media use. The organisations and developers behind social media platforms
should provide tools and services that improve the user experience for people with disabilities.

utilise best practises when it comes to posting on social media. This includes, providing
alternative text descriptions for images, including closed captions for videos, and
using camel case for hashtags. This will allow screen readers and other assistive technologies
to better understand content and translate meaningful information to the user. As members
of a digital society, it is important to empathise and recognise that not all users are the same
and to understand how to enrich the social media experience for people with disabilities
and impairments. We believe that connectivity is a human right
and that connectivity can’t just be a privilege for some of the rich and powerful. It needs
